IDOM Innovations in Australia
IDOM Innovations began in 2020 with one mission, to empower transparent and simple automotive ecosystems. IDOM Innovations has grown its team to over 50 employees in two short years and is providing automotive solutions to customers across Australia.
IDOM Innovations launched its Victoria-based Head Quarters in 2022 and has offices in WA and NSW.

A message from our CEO
In 2019 we began with a vision to change how the world looks at cars and their life cycle. Together with myself and a team of industry experts, we challenged ourselves to reimagine how the automotive world could look. Fast forward three years, a global pandemic and a fast-changing economy, we have grown to a team of 50+ like-minded people who also believe we can do things better.

A history of IDOM
IDOM Innovations is a subsidiary of IDOM Inc. the largest used car retailer in Japan. IDOM Inc. began its journey in 1994 under the brand Gulliver, the business grew from one used car dealership to more than 500 in 5 years, becoming the fastest company in history to be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
In 2015, IDOM entered the Australian market after it acquired a majority share of DVG Automotive Group in Western Australia. In 2018, IDOM acquired the Andrews & Wallis Motor Group in Victoria, firmly cementing it’s presence in the Australian automotive market.
Soon after establishing itself as a major player in the Australian automotive market, IDOM began to look towards the future and the need for new technologies to support a quickly changing environment. In 2019 IDOM Innovations was born, a space where experts in automotive and technology come together to reimagine the car life cycle for Australia and the globe.
Our Leaders
Takayoshi Udagawa - CEO
Takayoshi Udagawa (Uda) joined Gulliver in 2003 as a graduate. After working with the Business Development Team and Direct Store Strategy Team, he was appointed as a company executive in 2016, the youngest in the company’s history. Uda moved to Australia to be a board director in 2015 and was appointed as CEO of Australian Operations in 2018.
Julian Fogarty - CPO
Julian has a broad range of experience in business growth, digital enabled, transformation, technology and innovation. After many years in strategic executives roles for companies such as Downer and KPMG, Julian joined IDOM Innovations in 2020 as Chief Product Officer.
